Here you can see the bottom of the sound cover, dripping oil. The oil was from my making a mess and prevented me from seeing anything around the unit. We would be removing the cover upon putting the generator back in as it was more “in the way” than an effective sound dampener given that the “micro space” does a pretty good job of keeping the noise down. Also…this baby gets HOT, real hot. So hot (in use) that you can’t touch it after it’s been on for 3 minutes. To then touch it, you have to wait at least 3 hours or you’ll get burned. Ain’t boating fun!…..:)
