This gallery is done with only snorkel gear as it’s forbidden to SCUBA dive in Tonga near Humpback whales. This mom was the biggest humpback we ever saw. She is accompanied by her several week old calf and a male “escort”.
He’s interested, she didn’t seem to be. Mating frequently occurs in Humpbacks soon after a calf is born.
