It was a mixed blessing. Some of the locals felt “urban renewal” was a good thing to improve the look and feel of the island as many of the houses were mere shacks. But then again, it was HOME. 80 homes were completely destroyed and 200 damaged. That’s about 70+% of the homes on the island.
