This is Ahu Akivi located near the west center of the island. It is the only location where Moai moved long distances (outside the quarry) were intentionally set to face the sea directly overlooking Hanga Roa and facing the sunset at the fall equinox. The islanders had quite an advanced sense of the stars. The seven Moai here were apparently to represent the 7 clans of the island.
