After the Moai Wars, another “cult” apparently became popular in the 1700’s or so. This was the “bird man cult”. The deep crater of Orongo Volcano is located right on the edge (south east) of the island with three large “motus” or small islands right below it. The wall face is about 500 feet high and vertical.
